Yes. I sell this stuff, and composite doors are pretty common now. They're lighter than solid wood, but that doesn't mean you can use cheap hardware.
Here's what actually matters. Composite doors usually run 1.5 to 2 inches thick. Our 8 Foot Barn Door Track System handles the weight fine – most composite doors land between 50 and 80 pounds. But check your door first. Some of the cheaper composite cores are hollow, and the mounting bolts can crush them if you over-tighten. Use a backing plate if the door feels soft.
For mounting, the Heavy Duty Wall Mount Hanging Sliding Barn Glass Door Track Rail System Hardware works on wall or ceiling. The wall mount is easier if you don't have access above the ceiling. Just make sure you hit studs, not just drywall.

One thing people don't think about: composite doors don't expand and contract like wood. That's good. But they can flex if the door is thin. If you're using a 1.5-inch door, add a mid-track support or a floor guide that actually touches the door. Otherwise it'll sway when you slide it.
