I sell bulk barn doors and kits. And after people buy, the question I get most is how to keep the finish from looking beat up. Here's the short version.
Clean it gently. Dust with a microfiber cloth once a week. If it's sticky, use a damp cloth with a little mild dish soap. Wring it out so it's barely wet, then dry right after. Don't use abrasive cleaners or scrub pads. They dull the finish fast.

Control moisture. Wood doors hate damp air. Keep indoor humidity between 30 and 50 percent. If the door is near a shower or sink, wipe up splashes right away. Seal the wood if it isn't sealed.
Touch up when needed. If the finish gets scratched, sand the spot lightly, then re-stain or repaint. Match the sheen. For hardware, a little metal polish brings back the shine.
