There are three ways to open a barn door; single door, double door and folding door. A common sliding door application is a single door that slides left or right. Assuming you have enough room for the door to slide in one direction, this method is useful for smaller or standard openings. If your wall is large enough to accommodate open doors, this is a good choice for larger openings.
Another option is a double-opened barn door. This option is common for larger openings or applications where there is not enough space to slide a single door. This is the case in the photo below, where the openings are centered and the doors open in opposite directions so they can be "stored" on both sides of the opening.
Another option is folding doors. This application is ideal for areas where a barn door is needed but not enough space opening. In this application, the doors overlap and slide past, so there has half opening for acrossing. This is a more complicated and expensive solution, but it is the only option when there is not enough space of the opening.
