The opening test (life cycle test) measures how many times a glass door pivot hinge can be opened and closed before it fails or shows unacceptable wear.
How is the test done?
A machine repeatedly opens and closes the door under controlled conditions.
Typical setup:
• Real glass door installed • Opening angle: usually 90° or 180°
• Speed: constant, automatic cycling
The hinge is tested until:
• It loosens • Deforms
• Fails mechanically • Or no longer operates smoothly
